Crochet By Numbers Blanket Crochet Pattern - digital or hard copy

£3.00

Crochet By Numbers is a squishy blanket that will keep you cosy even in the depths of winter.  Written in UK terminology.

Puff stitches are used with subtle shade changes to create a crocheted flower within each hexagon. Although puff stitches use a lot of yarn, it’s worth it for the resulting texture and warmth they bring to the finished blanket design.

Yarn - John Arbon Textiles Knit By Numbers (KBN) DK; 100g/ 233m/ 255yds; 50% Bluefaced Leicester/ 50% Merino. Also available in 25g/ 58m/ 64yds skeins.

Up to 600g for the cot blanket and 1120g for the lap throw size.

Sizes

Cot Blanket - 89cm/ 35” long and 72cm/ 28.25” wide

Lap Throw - 118cm/ 46.5” long and 108cm/ 42.5” wide

Notions

5mm (US H8) hook, 2 x place markers, tapestry needle, blocking equipment

Construction - Hexagons are worked over four rounds and half hexagons are worked over four rows. These are then joined together using slip stitches, before a simple slip stitch edge is added around the blanket.

Gauge - Blocked size for hexagons is 12cm / 4.75" at widest part (point to point) and 11cm/ 4.25" at narrowest part (straight edge to straight edge).

Stitches used - double crochet (US single crochet), puff stitches, half treble crochet (US half double crochet) and slip stitches.

Pattern Pricing

I now operate a ‘pay what you can’ scale for my electronic/downloadable single patterns.  I usually charge £5 for these patterns and to encourage access for all crafters, these are now available on a scale of £3 - £7 and you chose what you can afford within that scale.

Please note that this doesn’t apply to my hard copy patterns, which remain priced at £5 and come with an automatic digital download.

Pattern format

Crochet By Numbers is a 12 page document.  If you are purchasing a printed copy, it is A4 sized with large, clear text, charts, supporting images and links to helpful tutorials.

Weights given are approximated to provide the best estimate for postage and packaging costs only.

Product materials, sourcing and PoM Rating

Postage and Packaging

You can read all about P&P here.

The P&P costs applied are very transparent.  No additional costs are added on, you simply pay for the cost of packaging and the cost of postage.  I don't offer free P&P because what that usually means is that the cost of P&P has been added to the cost of goods.  I think it is better to assume that my customers aren't daft and would rather have transparent P&P costs than the pretence of 'Free P&P' with inflated prices on the items that they are buying.
